Could ADHD Be Part of What You’re Experiencing?

Adult ADHD Testing May Help If:

  • You struggle to stay focused, even when something is important.
  • Organization and time management feel harder than they should.
  • You frequently start tasks but have difficulty finishing them.
  • You miss deadlines, appointments, or important details despite your best efforts.
  • Routine responsibilities can feel overwhelming or difficult to manage.
  • You’ve developed coping strategies but maintaining them takes a lot of effort.
  • You’ve wondered whether long-standing challenges with attention, follow-through, or organization could be related to ADHD.

ADHD can look different in adults than it does in children. A comprehensive evaluation can help determine whether ADHD may be contributing to your concerns and identify other factors that could also be affecting attention, organization, or daily functioning.

Want more detail on our Psychological Testing Process?

Your first step is an intake appointment. During this session, we take time to understand your concerns, history, and goals for testing.

We’ll talk about the challenges you’re experiencing with attention, organization, follow-through, time management, or other areas of daily life. We may also ask about your educational, work, medical, or mental health history when it is relevant to the evaluation.

If additional questionnaires, self-assessments, or records would be helpful, we’ll let you know what to complete or bring before your testing session.

After your intake appointment, we’ll schedule your in-person testing at our Lynchburg office. Testing may be completed in one session or split into multiple sessions, depending on the assessments recommended for you.

Testing sessions may last several hours, so we recommend bringing a snack and drink and wearing comfortable clothing. Breaks can be taken when needed.

Continue taking your regular medications as prescribed unless your healthcare provider or testing clinician has given you different instructions. If you feel unwell on the day of your appointment, contact our office so we can determine whether rescheduling is appropriate.

Once testing is complete, your clinician will score, review, and interpret the results along with the information gathered during your evaluation.

If your evaluation includes additional questionnaires, self-assessments, or requested records, completing those promptly helps us keep your report on schedule.

Your written report will summarize the findings, explain what they may mean, and provide recommendations based on the overall evaluation.

Reports are completed within 30 days after testing is completed.

When your report is ready, we’ll schedule a feedback session to review the results.

During this appointment, your clinician will explain the findings, answer your questions, and discuss whether ADHD fits into the overall picture. You’ll also review recommendations and practical next steps based on your individual needs.

Our goal is for you to leave the feedback session with a clearer understanding of your strengths, challenges, and options moving forward.
