ABOUT DANIELLE SHIGLEY
Danielle is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Addictions Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University. Danielle’s experience includes working at a college counseling center, a residential treatment facility for adolescents struggling with substance abuse, community-based work with children and adolescents struggling with behavioral problems, and outpatient therapy for adults and adolescents. Danielle now works with adults and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, life adjustments, trauma, grief, and life stressors.
Danielle meets clients where they are at in their growth journey and strongly believes in utilizing clients’ strengths to overcome their challenges. She is passionate about helping clients learn how to not only survive but thrive in their environment. Danielle helps clients learn from their past to change what they are doing in the present in order to achieve the future they want. Danielle is trauma-informed and trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Danielle strives to help empower her clients and instill hope.
Danielle has lived in Texas, Oklahoma, and Indiana and now enjoys living in Virginia near the mountains. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, game nights with friends, traveling the world, and learning random hobbies.
