Steve Barnwell

Steve has held his license as a professional counselor in the Commonwealth of Virginia since 2005. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Liberty University and a Master’s degree from Lynchburg College.

Steve has experience working with children, adolescents, adults and their families in residential settings and he has experience working with folks in inpatient hospitalizations. He has additional experience as a school counselor, social worker, and outpatient clinician. He uses elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and psycho-education to help the client better deal with their emotions, make good choices, and improve their situation.

Steve, his wife and 3 adult children, enjoy home improvement projects, hiking and biking, eating and laughing by the fire pit and the occasional friendly game of corn hole.
