ABOUT CHANDLER WRIGHT
Chandler is a Resident in Counseling who received his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Chandler has experience working with individuals struggling with substance use addiction and mental health struggles in a variety of settings. During his practicum and internship, Chandler worked with individuals at Thomas Road Baptist Church and was simultaneously gaining experience from Virginia Baptist Hospital and Lynchburg General Hospital. Chandler now works as an outpatient clinician LMHP-E at Horizon Behavioral health.
Chandler’s approach to counseling stems from the understanding that people have their own story to tell and that people most feel valued when they feel truly heard. Chandler’s empathetic approach to counseling allows people to feel valued and accepted wherever they are in life and provides a safe space for people to explore their thoughts and feelings on a deeper level. He sees the therapeutic process as coming alongside his clients and helping them navigate their life circumstances together. He encourages honesty, openness, and a willingness to act from his clients so that they can understand themselves on a deeper level and grow in their personal development.
Chandler is passionate about meeting people where they’re at in life and helping them navigate a wide variety of life’s struggles. Chandler has experience helping clients navigate relationships, current life stressors, developing positive coping skills for depression and anxiety, and working through struggles with addiction to alcohol and drugs.
