ABOUT ABBEY STANDLEY, LMFT

Abbey is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as North Carolina. Abbey believes every client has a story to share and desires to assist others in their healing journey, wherever they may find themselves. Abbey has been working in the mental health field since 2019 and has experience working with adults of all life-stages, as well as couples and adolescents. Whether you find yourself in distress, desire to gain skills for greater emotional wellness, or are desiring to have healthier relationships, Abbey believes in using a variety of evidence-based approaches to best meet her client’s needs. Abbey is clinically trained in Level 1 Gottman Couple’s Therapy and EMDR Therapy. Along with her clinical training, Abbey uses integrated concepts from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Psycho-dynamic theory, Attachment theory, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Somatic-Based therapy.
