Kirstin is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who holds a Master’s Degree and has additional training in couple’s communication skills through PREP/CPREP. She is also certified to administer the PREPARE (pre-marital counseling) and ENRICH (marital counseling) inventories, which include assessment and skill building.
Over the past 10 years, Kirstin’s counseling experience includes working with individuals, couples, families, children and adolescents. She uses a variety of strength-based approaches in her work with pre-marital and married couples. She works with individuals on issues like depression, anxiety, setting boundaries, and body image. She also serves as a clinical consultant for graduate courses at Liberty University.
Within the counseling session, Kirstin focuses on the goals the client brings in as well as addressing the obstacles that have prevented the attainment of those goals. Kirstin strives to approach her counseling work with sensitivity, compassion, and a variety of tools and styles to adequately address each client’s needs.
Kirstin has been married to her sweetheart, Chad, for 15 years where weekly date nights are still treasured time. They have 3 children: Drew (7), Ben (4), and Kyrie Anna (1) who “daily teach us the beauty of messy, grace-filled lives.” Kirstin greatly adds to the wealth of experience at Wyndhurst Counseling Center.
