I believe everyone can benefit from counseling. Sometimes we just need someone to listen and help us sort things out, so that we can grow into the person we desire to be and enjoy the people and activities we value most in life. Other times we are impacted by deep trauma, grief, failure, difficult relationship patterns, or disappointment that results in a painful struggle we can’t seem to get free from. At these times we need something and someone to go deeper with us with warmth, respect, and skill
Over the course of my time in mental health I have worked with children, adolescents in crisis, college and career age young adults sorting things out, those with trauma/PTSD, those having experienced abuse, individuals struggling with betrayal & disappointment, those suffering grief or loss, those with significant anxiety & depression, amd those facing retirement or issues of aging and failing health. I have also worked with parents seeking to grow to better respond to their children or teens, married couples seeking to thrive and those wanting to save their marriages, as well as families seeking to have healthy and positive relationships while facing challenges in doing so. I utilize evidence-based techniques to engage in my clients’ UNIQUE stories in a genuine and caring way. Those include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy along with Attachment Theory for couples and families.
When not counseling I enjoy time hiking, camping, or kayaking outdoors, playing basketball, catching up on a little Florida State and college football, and spending time with my family and the family dogs. But I’m thankful to enjoy work as well! In all my counseling, I desire to come alongside my clients and help them move towards the life and relationships that truly matter to them. I would count it a privilege to enter into that process with you today!
