Sunday Towles holds a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, with additional training in Prepare (pre-marital counseling) Enrich (marital counseling). She is a volunteer through the SARP program, certified in SAFEtalk (suicide prevention), and recently attended training in direct care for trauma victims through Livingwell Spring Institute in Atlanta, Ga. While working on her Master’s degree, Sunday helped co-found MarriageWorks, a ministry to married people at Blue Ridge Community Church.
Sunday’s experience ranges from working with married couples, single adults, and adolescents. Her particular training has focused on women who have experienced sexual trauma, with adjacent issues of depression, body image, self worth, and healthy relationships.
Within the counseling session, Sunday encourages the client to live an intentional life toward healing, while providing tools for the client to empower themselves by having a voice. She uses a variety of approaches, while under girding everything with compassion and grace. She takes an eclectic approach to counseling, including cognitive behavioral therapy and a client’s family history.
Sunday has been married for 17 years and has two children 9 and 12.
