Kristen came to Lynchburg from Texas to study counseling at Liberty University. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling in 2010 and received a Professional Counseling license for the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2013. She has worked with clients of various backgrounds and issues, including depression, anxiety, stress management, grief, pre-marital counseling, and spiritual issues. She is returning from a three-year hiatus following the birth of her sons in 2016 and 2018. Having experienced a miscarriage and having survived postpartum depression and anxiety after each birth, Kristen discovered a passion for helping other postpartum women navigate the same issues. She is currently pursuing certification in the treatment of postpartum disorders.
There’s another side to Kristen that we’re not real sure about. She can often be heard to say, “Hook ‘Em Horns!” We still don’t know for sure what that means. We’ll ask her what time she’s coming in and she replies, “At 12 Noon…and OU still sucks!” Apparently this is all quite common when you are a very rabid, though quite misguided, Longhorn fan.
Kristen and her husband, Mike, have been married since 2010. She enjoys Tex-Mex, science fiction, and playing the piano for the worship team at her church. Welcome back, Kristen…
