A native of Richmond, Virginia, Karen’s previous career paths were in the hotel and hospitality industry and the non-profit association management field. She was the founder of a successful professional association management and small business consulting firm in Richmond, Professional Edge. After a career in corporate and personal coaching, Karen felt called to pursue a degree in professional counseling to offer support and help for others in finding ways to heal the past and balance the many demands in life critical for maintaining, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health.
Karen is part of Wyndhurst Counseling Center’s therapeutic team in both the Charlottesville and Keswick offices. In particular, Karen has a heart for working with individuals experiencing life transitions whether divorce, empty nest, widowhood, career-changes, image issues, abuse, grief, leadership, and new beginnings. She is passionate about helping others discover life purpose and fulfillment. She facilitates in both professional counseling and life coaching to help individuals experience change.
Karen and her husband live on an old family homestead in central Virginia and enjoy working toward self-sustainability through gardening, farming, and the use of natural resources. In addition, they are avid motorcyclists and strive to serve military veterans and their families whenever possible.
