Mike is a Licensed Professional Counselor, has a Masters in Professional Counseling, a Specialist degree in Education, and is in his final year completing his PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. Mike has been working with a wide range of individuals from children as young as 3 years old through seniors. He also has experience working with couples and families and has been working in the community since 2008. Mike has received training with multiple evidenced based models of treatment such as Multi-Systemic therapy and Prepare and Enrich premarital counseling. Mike also has advanced education in counseling theories and treatment models.
Mike believes that individual growth and healing come from internal and external influences which requires patience and trust through the therapeutic relationship to resolve. He is adamant about identifying how presenting problems are most often the result of deeper and undiscovered problems that require attention and treatment for sustaining progress and avoiding relapse.
Mike and his wife have lived locally for over 30 years and have two daughters. Mike enjoys spending time with his family, learning new skills, and training in martial arts. His hobbies include working on muscle cars, volunteering, mentoring, engaging in the community, and family activities.
