Ashlie Manuel is a Resident in Counseling with a Master’s of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. She has been working with children and families for over 12 years. She began by working in residential treatment centers. She then started working with children and adolescents with a variety of mental health and behavioral symptoms in the school, home, and community settings. Ashlie has worked with symptoms and diagnoses including ADHD, ODD, OCD, PTSD, RAD, DMDD, and a variety of other behavioral issues.
Ashlie strongly believes that working with children and adolescents requires a relationship built upon the foundations of trust, patience, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. Ashlie utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches that include, but are not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy Techniques, Person Centered Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.
Ashlie enjoys spending time with friends, exploring outdoors, and camping at the beach. Ashlie also enjoys playing with her therapy dog in training, Dexter, the miniature goldendoodle.
